We Brits have got a lot to be proud of – not only do British clothing designers do their level best to ensure that we look fabulous day in, day out but they are also making the capital city the very forefront of ethical fashion, according to one expert.
Josie Nicholson, associate director at the Ethical Fashion Forum, has praised designer brands for becoming increasingly environmentally aware, with many now leaning towards the development of sustainable clothing lines.
"London has a great history as being the place to go for exciting new cutting-edge design – our fashion weeks have always been the most edgy and fashion forward," she said.
As a result of this, Josie added that fashionistas in the capital city have the "perfect platform" to lead people all over the world to follow designers that pioneer responsible fashion.
None other than iconic British designer Vivienne Westwood recently made a plea to shopping addicts the world over on BBC London Radio, urging us to only buy clothes when we absolutely have to.
And while that’s probably not very likely for people such as myself, who find it hard to go a day without stepping into a designer boutique, she did make a good point in saying that we should only invest in quality garments in order to avoid unnecessary waste.
If that’s not an excuse to go shopping for some good-quality designer clothes, I don’t know what is!
