Oh I remember those days all too well – you’re a gawky 13-year-old and pairing your brand new denim jacket with a pair of jeans is the hottest look around.
But bad news I’m afraid – no longer is double denim merely the talk of the playground, it has now made something of a catwalk comeback.
In my personal opinion this bizarre trend is something that should be left well and truly back in my youth but it does pain me to say that celebrity fashionista Alexa Chung has made an extremely effortless job at making it look chic (as usual).
Somehow this style queen seems to be able to pull off absolutely anything and Alexa’s London Fashion Week ensemble was no exception.
Pairing an oversized light denim shirt with indigo straight leg jeans and heels, the TV presenter somehow managed to make the 90s throwback look seem like the hottest clothing trend around.
It’s almost enough to make you want to try it yourself.
As you all know, I am an avid follower of Vogue and take pretty much whatever they say as gospel but after the publication advocated that top-to-toe denim as the hottest way to wear the trend, I might have to have a re-think.
Fashionistas over at the magazine advise double denim wearers to give this old trend a new twist by mixing up the textures with rips, frays and even patchwork.
