It’s not often that we here at Secret Sales HQ mention the Duchess of Cornwall Camilla Parker Bowles in our fashion commentary, but there’s a first time for everything, right?
Camilla has been spotted out and about fashioning a rather unusual designer bag, which perhaps suggests that she’s keen to keep in her mother-in-law’s good books.
The Duchess has been seen sporting a Lulu Guinness black satin bag featuring a multicoloured sequinned depiction of the Queen’s profile on a Royal Mail stamp.
Camilla took the bag along to a showcase of favourite clothing designer Anna Valentine’s spring/summer collection held at London’s High Court last night (February 11th).
The fashion designer created the Duchess’s wedding dress and a number of outfits that she has subsequently worn on engagements all over the world.
And it would appear that designer handbag creator Lulu Guinness is thrilled that one of the most photographed women in the UK has been pictured wearing one of her bags, which was bought for less than £1,000
"I think it shows she’s got a great sense of humour. I’m quite touched," she told the Daily Telegraph.
In the past the Duchess has appeared just how fashion-frugal she is by recycling her wedding dress to wear to the opening of the National Assembly of Wales.
I don’t think some of the girls here at Secret Sales HQ would be able to recycle the meringues they wore on their wedding day!
Do you think Camilla is a fashion icon?

Absolutely, the Duchess is a fashion icon to great effect, she wears the incredibly elegant dresses and coats designed by Anna Valentine, as well as the quintessentially British hats dreamed up by Irish-born Philip Treacy. The delightful thing is that she’s known to be warm and friendly and also known not to worship style to the detriment of substance.
