Obviously, here at Secret Sales we love online fashion sales. Shopping for designer clothing on the web is something that we are very good at as an office! You only need to take a walk around the room at lunchtime to see people with their debit cards out buying that new pair of gorgeous shoes!
But I’m sure that we are not an exception – and that all of you have had a quick browse of the sales while sat at work.
If your bosses aren’t too happy about this fact, then I may be able to give you some ammunition.
According to a report in the Times of India, spending some time shopping online during an eight-hour day at work might not actually be doing the company any harm.
Dr Claire Simmers carried out a study which suggested that spending some time during the day switched off from work activities "might not affect workers’ performances as believed by bosses" the publication noted.
"If an employee spends an hour surfing the net, but an entire weekend working on a report, there should be trust that both are equally benefiting from this relationship," continued Dr Simmers.
According to the Money Saving blog, shopping online has benefits over visiting stores as you are less likely to make impulse purchases and you have access to greater choice when it comes to clothing.
Do you enjoy shopping online from the office? Does your employer know?
