Red is sexy, blue is calming ...

Everyone has that one designer dress or favourite jumper that you know will guarantee a compliment at some point during the day. And a lot of the time that will come down to what the colour does for your complexion.

Here at Secret Sales HQ we all have our favourite colours that we know suit us, but could it all be a little more complex than just what we can see on the surface?

Many celebrities are fans of colour consultancy and one such expert, Jules Standish, has given us some tips on how to use different tones in our designer clothing to change our mood over the festive season.

She suggests wearing blue to help relax when feeling stressed and pointed out it is also a good option if you’re attending a job interview.

When feeling a little under the weather, green will boost the immune system, she adds.

However, what we are most interested in, is what to wear to get us noticed at the infamous office Christmas party. Ms Standish notes that red is the way to go if you want to get the adrenaline flowing and increase your energy levels as its "sexy and romantic".

Perhaps this was the motivation behind this outfit choice by singer/songwriter, actress and older sister of Hilary – Haylie Duff at the Dizzy Feet Foundation fundraiser?
