How to make an entrance at the office Christmas party

How to make an entrance at the office Christmas party

The Christmas party season is just around the corner ladies – and there is no time like the present to start shopping for the perfect designer dress.

Eilidh MacAskill, editor over at InStyle magazine, has offered us some top tips on how to stay on trend this festive season and make sure we really make an entrance at the office do.

Dresses are definitely the thing this year. "The sequin frock is a huge trend and the best versions come with short hemlines and long sleeves to balance the exposure and glam factor," she said.

She suggested that if going down the ’80s route, which has been a key look all season, then strapless necklines, peplum waists and metallic fabrics are what we should be keeping an eye out for.

If you decide to opt for animal prints, she stresses that a discreet print is best – to avoid looking "tacky".

Another trend this Christmas is for patterned tights and hosiery. But these should be reserved for plainer dresses, she quickly adds.

I saw a picture this week (November 16th) of Eva Longoria attending the Hollywood Reporter’s Philanthropist of the Year Award wearing a very festive red satin dress.

Do you think Eva’s dress suited her small frame?
