The key to a successful mix and match wardrobe is having plenty of fabulous shoes, according to Tamara Mellon.
As the woman in charge of Jimmy Choo, Tamara has something of a vested interest in persuading us to buy more shoes, but that doesn’t make her advice any less valid. After all, if we’ve learned one thing from watching 94 episodes of Sex and the City, it’s that a girl can never have enough shoes.
The effortlessly stylish businesswoman told the Sunday Times that her busy life meant her wardrobe had to be versatile.
She explained that she recently wore the same dress to work, a parent-teacher meeting and a U2 gig on the same day. Tamara made it work by changing her shoes in-between each event, with heels for work, flats for school and some biker boots for the rock concert.
"From businesswoman to mum to rock chick – it’s all about the shoes," she explained.
Tamara also had some advice for women struggling to get ahead in the world of business – don’t attempt to dress in a masculine fashion, just stick to the tried and tested black dress and killer heels combo.
