RnB songstress Rihanna has never been a favourite of mine. While I applaud her for her daring sense of style, I simply can’t get over the fact that she looks like a bit of a diva. Superficial as it sounds, I refuse to advocate wearing dark sunglasses indoors and at night time – designer brand or not. The fact that she rarely smiles when she steps out in public adds to this irritation of mine – irrational I know, but I can’t help it.
So, you can imagine how torn I was when I spotted snaps of the Umbrella singer wearing one of the most fabulous pairs of boots I have clasped my eyes on in years – the sexy faux leather black thigh-high perforated boots by Stella McCartney.
The must-have boots that the designer herself was wearing back in March are in hot demand by every A-list fashionista in the UK and the US, and retail at a hefty £715. But even getting on the waiting list for the kinky foot (and leg)wear is no small feat.
But while I love Stella’s perforated style in particular, there are plenty of other labels putting out similar styles, so there’s no need to despair – Prada and Chloe are making them, and they featured heavily in both fashion weeks in London and New York.
Among those stars to have been spotted sporting the style are Madonna and Lady Gaga – of course – as well as Lindsay Lohan and Victoria Beckham.
