Prada, Manolo Blahnik and Jimmy Choo are names that are synonymous with shoes – high fashion and simply divine. But high-heel lovers the world over will have to get used to saying the name Sophie Gittins in the same breath as this is one designer who is set to explode over the next year.
The 25-year-old, who graduated from Cordwainers at London College of Fashion, has already had her shoes featured along with some of fashion’s greats in the exhibition Shoes: The Agony and The Ecstacy, and she has even worked on Chloe catwalk collections with former John Galliano, Givenchy and Alexander McQueen accessories head Jennefer Osterhoudt. Those are some good CV credentials, right?
We here at Secret Sales HQ are all very excited about the forthcoming eponymous collection from the young designer – and she herself sounds fairly excited about it. She told my friends at Vogue: "It was always shoes … Really, I design shoes that I’d wear and be happy to wear. It’s surreal and a pleasure to wake up and do what I do."
Apparently her autumn/winter line takes inspiration from architecture in terms of graphic print and trim, so expect austere lines and urban-style looks. This, I think could work really well with the recession chic mantra that is set to continue sweeping through the fashion world, in which labels are going back to basics and creating plainer staples that are based more on long-lasting quality than flashiness and high-octane glam. But this girl is in hot demand, so be prepared to pay a pretty penny for her designs.
How much would you pay for a pair of killer shoes?

wow..great shoes…
I like it very much
